The Ranch Wildlife Management Tool is a free, open-source web app that helps Texas landowners prepare 1-d-1 wildlife management plans (PWD 885) and annual reports (PWD 888). This policy describes what happens to the information you enter. The short version: your data stays on your device unless you turn on Google Drive sync, and we never see it either way.

What we collect: nothing

Everything you enter — plans, reports, activity log entries, photos, maps, and any personal information they contain — is stored inside your own browser (IndexedDB) on your own device. There is no application server: nothing you type is transmitted to us, and we have no database, no advertising, and no tracking cookies.

The static files that make up the app are delivered by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to serve and secure the site, like any website host. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregate visit counts — it sets no cookies and does not track or identify you, and it never sees any of the data you enter in the app.

Google Drive sync (optional, off by default)

If you enable Google Sync, the app saves a backup of your data to your own Google Drive, in a hidden app-data area that only this app can access, so you can sync between your devices. When sync is on:

You can turn sync off at any time in Settings → Data Management (Disconnect), and remove the stored copy via Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps.

Deleting your data

Use Settings → Data Management → Clear All Data, or clear this site's data in your browser. If you used Google Sync, also remove the app's data in Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete.

Your responsibility for backups

Because your data lives only in your browser (and optionally your Google Drive), you are responsible for keeping backups — use the Export feature or Google Sync. If your browser data is cleared without a backup, the data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
